Men's and Women's Bowling finishes season at National Tournament

Buffalo, NY -  The Herkimer Men's and Women's Bowling teams finished the 2019 season at the NJCAA National Championships at Erie CC in Buffalo, NY. The women's team finished in 12th out of 19 teams and our men finished 18th out of 24 men’s teams.

The women's team had a slow start to the tournament and but did have a strong second day to finish the year strong. Top performers were Tilani O’Neal (Queens,NY), who finished 21st in All Events, 57th in singles, and 23rd in Doubles with her partner Katherine Vartanian (Cortland, NY). Tilani also had our teams high game of the tournament with a 245.

 The men were the opposite, getting off to good start on day one. Kyle Celio (Little Falls, NY) was our top All Events finisher in 53rd out of 131 male bowlers. Johnathan Wilkes (Auburn, NY) finished strong in the singles portion, finishing in 26th. Our top doubles group was Kyle Celio (Little Falls, NY) and Zach Jenkins (Endicott, NY) finishing in 49th.

 Herkimer wants to give a special congratulations to the Ancilla College who won the women’s national championship, and Iowa Central Community College for winning the men’s national championship.
