# 5 Herkimer blows out Columbia-Greene 7-0

Herkimer, NY - The #5 nationally ranked Herkimer Generals were back in action at home Sunday afternoon against Columbia-Greene CC. Herkimer again wasted little time getting on the scoreboard as freshman Courtney Madia (Frankfort, NY) scored off a Keara Blumenstock (Poland, NY) shot off the post 9 minutes into the game. Four minutes later Kayla Suppa (Oneida, NY) would double the lead off some nice combination play between her & Blumenstock. The Generals kept hounding the Twins’ goal and 5 minutes later Naudia Lockett (Schenectady, NY) would find Kristen Purcell (Sauquoit, NY) for one of her 3 goals on the day. The Twins kept the Generals at bay until 5 minutes left in the first half when Suppa would strike again off ball from Kristen Purcell & Tayler Clark (Poland, NY). Seconds before half Purcell would net her second this time from Emily LeBlanc (Morrisville, NY). The Generals were cruising as they built a 5-0 halftime lead.

Six minutes into the second half Suppa would spring Keara Blumenstock with a nice through ball who finished it to make it 6-0. 2 minutes after Tayler Clark found Purcell for a hat trick and a final score of 7-0. Kayla Alsheimer (Whitesboro, NY), Ericka Arancio (Clinton, NY), & Becky Judd (Herkimer, NY), all contributed to shut down the Twins attack. Kara Steacy (Cincinnatus, NY) & Jordan Zaccagnino (Cherry Valley, NY) split time in the goal for the shutout. The Generals, now 5-0 on the season, are back in action this Saturday home against Jamestown. Game time is 12:30.
