Herkimer College named No. 2 online community college in New York State

Herkimer County Community College and its Internet Academy program have been ranked the No. 2 online community college in New York State for 2020.

New York is home to 30 community colleges that provide opportunities to earn an online associate degree or certificate. Each college was assessed based on several factors, such as retention rate, graduation rate, percentage of online enrollment, and the number of online associate degrees offered. Herkimer College was deemed the second-best choice, following only behind Hudson Valley Community College in Troy, NY.

The rankings were done by Optimal, formerly known as the SR Education Group, an organization that uses data to help empower students to be able to make the best decisions on higher education and career path. This is the second year in a row Herkimer College has been recognized by the group.

Herkimer College’s Internet Academy has been bringing high-quality online education to students for more than 20 years, currently offering 21 associate degree programs and five certificates that can be completed entirely online from a person’s home.
