Women’s Basketball loses second consecutive game at home

(Samantha Randio scored a team-high 10 points Monday evening against the Lakers). 

HERKIMER, NY – The Women’s Basketball team, 3-1 in their last four games after defeating SUNY Delhi the second time this season on Saturday (2/8), had Mid-State Athletic Conference opponent Finger Lakes Community College come to their gym this evening. When it was all settled, the Lakers defeated the Generals 63-39.

Herkimer 10-12 (6-6) never led in this one, scoring 12 point in the first half.

In the second half, they had a much better performance, tallying 27, but they allowed three more point in the second half (33) than the first (30), losing by 24.

The Generals had seven player score in the game. They were: Samantha Randio (Ravena, NY), Shahadah Williams (Syracuse, NY), Korey Bunal (Rome, NY), Cheyenne Richards (Little Falls, NY), Emily Rexford (Canton, NY), Raven Griffin (Syracuse, NY) and Alyssa Craig (Fonda, NY). Randio scored a team-high 10, Williams scored six, Bunal scored six, Richards scored six, Rexford scored five, Griffin scored five and Craig scored four.

The team’s next game is this Wednesday (2/12). It will be their third game in five days. Traveling to Herkimer will be SUNY Adirondack. Game time is scheduled for 5 p.m.
