Generals Downed in Overtime

Herkimer NY-The Herkimer Generals Women's Basketball hosted undefeated SUNY Sullivan (13-0) for there first game of the spring semester. The Generals lead the game through the first half 35-24 but Sullivan exploded in the third quarter for 27 points to led the Generals 51-45 going into the fourth quarter. The Generals responded with a 22 points to tie the game up at the end of the regulation 67-67. SUNY Sullivan pulled away in overtime to remain undefeated on the season and knock off the Generals 78-71.

The Generals were led by Kapri Bradshaw(Uniondale, NY) who scored 35 points on the day with 5 rebounds, 4 assists and 2 steals. Freshman Jenna Faulkner(Otego, NY) added 15 points, 10 rebounds 4 blocks and 1 steal. Dinah Harris(Niagara Falls, NY) chipped in with 10 points, 5 rebounds and 2 assists in her season debut. 

Head Coach Matt Hazzard noted, "it was a great experience for our team, we played well and had a 18 point led but ultimately the size of Sullivan won out. Kapri once again showed she's a superstar and Jenna continued to fill out the stat box. For our first game back, we are pleased by taking a nationally ranked D-II program to overtime. This will certanly help prepare us for regional play". 

The Generals move to 9-4 on the season, and are back in action Wednesday when they host North Country CC for a 4 PM start.
