Herkimer College Generals Head Back to NJCAA Division III National Tournament
Catch the action, 7 p.m., March 9, as the Herkimer Generals take on Rock Valley CC in the NJCAA Division III National Tournament. Herkimer joins the Tournament for the sixth straight season.
The Herkimer Generals head back to the NJCAA Division III National Tournament for the sixth straight season. The Generals (21-4) received the No. 9 national seed and will take on No. 8 seed Rock Valley CC (21-9) on Wednesday, March 9 at 7 p.m. EST.
The Generals bring an experienced group to the National Tournament. Starting guards Jayden Stephens, (Yonkers, NY); Shykell Brown, (Rochester, NY); and Keyshawn Miller, (Yonkers, NY) all played valuable minutes during the 2020 National Tournament run.
“(I) was cautiously optimistic that we were going to get an at-large bid,” says Miller. “We have played well all season and we’re happy that the National Committee agreed. I told the guys that everything happens for a reason, but now it’s time to get back to work.”
Brown adds, “The two biggest takeaways from the 2020 run was to take care of our bodies (to be ready to play back-to-back days) and to take each game one possession at a time. We have a good feel for the competition and the team is in a great place mentally.”
