Generals Go 4-0 on the Weekend

Buffalo, Niagara NY- The Herkimer Generals women's softball team traveled to Western New York for the last weekend of the Region III play. The Generals racked up 4 wins scoring 39 runs on the weekend. 

The Herkimer offense was led by Maiya Reinhart, Michaela Ponticello, Angela Montanez and Hailey Hunter. Reihart went 7-14 on the weekend with 7 runs scored, 3 RBI's and 2 stolen bases. Ponticello had 6 hits, 6 runs scored and 6 RBI's. Montanez added 7 hits, scoring 5 runs and Hunter drove in 7 runs while adding her 5th home run on the season. 

The pitching staff was anchored by Elora Wilmot who had 3 wins on the weekend scattering only 2 earned runs in 13 innings of work. Wilmot surrendered 6 hits while striking out 16. Hannah Derock picked up the other win for the Generals, allowing 2 runs in 4 innings while striking out 5 k's.

The Generals begin playoffs on May 14th when they host Erie CC in the Region III sub-regional at 2 and 4 PM.
