Reimer and Cingranelli Contribute for Both Generals Goals

W. Soccer Huddle
The Generals looked to build on a dominant performance away to Tompkins Cortland last weekend back at Wehrum Stadium against a tough Fulton-Montgomery Raiders squad.
The weeks break between games gave the Generals players a chance to get over some illness and injuries, with Liz Cingranelli returning to the starting lineup, and both Donata Oaksford and Piper Keyes making the subs bench. All three players will be critical for the Generals as the season progresses.
Isabella Smith swapped striker duties last week for her spot in goal again, and Lacey Carpenter made her first start of the season in defense.
The first half would be a frustrating period, with the game taking place almost entirely in the FM half but with Herkimer either failing to break the Raiders down, or wasting opportunities when they arrived. The exception was a fantastic move involving 8 Generals, ending with Liz Cingranelli finding Lydia Reimer on the left of the box,  she moved past two defenders and fired a shot into the back of the net.
The second half would work put similar to the first,  with Herkimer controlling the game but failing to make the long periods of possession translate into created chances. Lydia Reimer did however go on to return the favor from Liz Cingranelli, by winning the ball in midfield and sending Liz running through on goal,  Liz unleashed a wild shot across the goal into the far corner to make it 2-0.
There were a couple more chances wasted, and Isabella Smith was called into action a couple of times late on,  making a smart diving save to her right and punching a corner out to set up an attack with very little time left in the field.
Coach Damon Neish said following the win:
"The girls done well but they know they can do more,  we talked about being ruthless, putting teams away and really making a mark but it's not quite clicked yet. You can see improvement every week which is good,  and when it really clicks we are going to be a fun team to watch"
"Part of it is my doing,  I had Natalie Little in defense, then as a forward, Kurstin and Izzy are rotating in the goal, we are blessed with the two of the best goalies in the region, so it's easy to switch them up and keep them competing, Donata, Lydia, Maddy, Liz, Delaney all played multiple positions, I am still trying to find our best line up,  but if we are playing this well whilst we iron out the creases, we are going to be great when we figure it out."
Final score Herkimer 2 - 0 Fulton Montgomery
