Herkimer College women’s soccer players, head coach Neish, earn All-Region Honors

Six Herkimer College women’s soccer players and head coach Damon Neish earned All-Region honors this past weekend.

Sophomores Elizabeth Cingranelli, Lydia Reimer, and Donata Hofsdal earned First Team All-Region. Sophomore Mia Lazzara along with freshmen Ryleigh Hart and Sarah Davis earned Second-Team All-Region honors. Head Coach Damon Neish was awarded Region III Coach of the Year.

Cingranelli, a forward from Stittville, NY, scored a career-best 12 goals this season. She also serves as the College’s student government president. Reimer, a midfielder from Newport, NY, finished top-five in Region III in goals and assists while leading the Generals in both categories. Hofsdal, a defender from Verona, NY, was one of the physical defenders in Region III,while adding a career-best three goals this season.

Lazzara, a forward from Westmoreland, NY, played volleyball in addition to soccer. She was a standout in both, but on the pitch she was one of just three Generals to score at least 10 goals this season. Hart, a defender from Fort Plain, NY, had a stellar freshman campaign as one of the most tactical defenders in the region. Davis, a freshman forward from Norwich, NY, recorded 13 points in her first season with the Generals, including a hat trick against Holyoke.

“There is no greater way for Lydia, Liz, Donata and Mia to leave Herkimer College than being voted to the all-region team,” said Neish. “All four players have not only been incredible servants to our school, but each of the girls has stood up and made us a force within the region this year. Sarah and Ryleigh give us an unbelievable foundation to build on going forward. Congratulations to all the girls. Our squad, school and community couldn't be prouder.”
