Herkimer College to Host American Red Cross Blood Drive

Herkimer College is inviting the community to take part in an American Red Cross blood drive to be held on campus Thursday, November 16th from 10:30 am – 3:30 pm in Alumni Hall, located in the Robert McLaughlin College Center (RMCC), 100 Reservoir Road.

The American Red Cross is facing a national blood shortage. Blood product distributions to hospitals are outpacing the number of blood donations coming in, and distributions of some of the most needed blood types to hospitals have been reduced in recent weeks. Donors of all blood types are urgently needed, and there is an emergency need for type O blood.

Donating is a safe process, and healthy individuals should schedule a donation to help maintain the nation’s blood supply; one blood donation can help up to three people in need. Donors will receive an exclusive pair of Elf & Red Cross socks, while supplies last. Join us to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the film Elf and make blood donations a holiday tradition. Walk-ins will be welcome if there are spots available.
