Herkimer College student Rebecca Swart, of Little Falls, NY, was named to the Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society All-New York Academic Team.

Phi Theta Kappa is the largest honor society in higher education, serving nearly 1,300 colleges in all 50 states and nine countries. Members of the All-New York Academic Team are recognized for their academic achievements, leadership accomplishments and engagement in community service.

Swart will graduate with high honors on May 10, 2024 with an associate in science degree in Health Professions. She plans to continue her education at Utica University where she will pursue a Bachelor of Science in Nursing. Her goal is to become a pediatric nurse.

Swart is participating in Healthcare Edge, a free online course offered exclusively to Phi Theta Kappa members to help prepare them for successful transition to employment in the healthcare field.

“I am beyond grateful for Phi Theta Kappa, as well as my professors and advisors, recognizing my academic achievements, leadership skills, and community involvement,” said Swart.

“Rebecca’s hard work and commitment to her academic goals are beyond impressive, and we are very proud of her achievements,” Herkimer College Officer-in-Charge Nicholas F. Laino said.

Swart received a medallion and certificate for this designation on April 11 during the PTK Awards Ceremony held on April 11 at the Albany Capital Center.
