Generals Remain Undefeated Against Raiders

JOHNSTOWN, NY – Outdoing their season high in goals to date by three, the Herkimer Generals women’s soccer team netted eight goals against Fulton-Montgomery Community College, handing the Raiders an 8-0 loss on Saturday (9/13) to remain undefeated on the season.

Currently ranked fourth in the nation, Herkimer (4-0, 1-0) saw six different players score in 90 minutes. Netting two goals were Danielle Nicosia (Oneonta, NY) and Teigha Ward (Ilion, NY). Combined both players have 12 of the team’s 17 goals this season.

Other contributors on offense were Zaira Pabon (Liberty, NY), Nicole Doolen (Ilion, NY), Alicia Evans (Watertown, NY) and Jena Soper (Harrisville, NY). Each had one goal. Pabon scored on a Nicosia assist in the 25th to make it 2-0. Doolen scored on a penalty kick in the 27th to make it 3-0. Evan scored on a Doolen assist in the 85th to make it 7-0. Soper scored unassisted in the 89th to make it 8-0.

In the net for Herkimer was Sydney Stanley (Schoharie, NY). The freshman got her second shutout of the season in 90 minutes of play.

The Generals next game is on Wednesday, September 17th. They’ll travel to Rochester, NY to take on Monroe Community College. The Tribunes are the only NJCAA DI team Herkimer will face this season. Game time is scheduled for 3 p.m.
