Region III Female Athlete of the Week, Victoria Campanian

HERKIMER, NY – For the third time this season, Herkimer Generals cross country runner Victoria Campanian earned the distinction of Region III Female Athlete of the Week, going back-to-back as Mountain Valley Conference and Region III Champion in the process.

Campanian, a Liberal Arts & Sciences: General studies major at Herkimer College, as mentioned repeated as a Mountain Valley Conference and Region III Champion this season. The captain posted an 18:03 at Hudson Valley then a 19:17 at SUNY Delhi, good enough for first place in each race.

A resident of Glenfield, NY, Campanian will look to complete the trifecta at Finger Lakes Community College, this year’s host for the Cross Country National Championship. She finished in sixth place last season as a freshman.

“Victoria is one of the most consistent runners I have ever coached,” said Head Cross Country Coach Stephen Sydoriw. “She has won both the Mountain Valley Conference Championship and Regional Championship both years at Herkimer, earning All Mountain Valley Conference Team and All-Region Team nominations. Her demeanor each day is tremendous! I’m not surprised by her success, and look forward to helping her improve as the season comes to a conclusion.”
