Polk, Windster, Somow, Shearer and White on All-Region Team

HERKIMER, NY – The Herkimer Generals men’s soccer team had Ben Polk (Banbury, UK), Jermaine Windster (Rotterdam, Holland), Moulid Somow (Utica, NY), Connor Shearer (Oneonta, NY) and Mitch White (Leicester, England) named to the 2014 All-Region Team, as First-Team members.

Each helped the Generals to their 25^th consecutive Region III Championship in November with Polk, Windster and Somow combining for three goals and three assists in two games against Finger Lakes and Genesee. Polk had a goal against both the Lakers and Cougars, while Windster added his in the regional semifinals, a game the Generals won 8-0.

As for Shearer and White, both captains helped Herkimer to their 13^th shutout of the season, outscoring opponents during regionals playoffs 10-to-0.

“What a great representation of Herkimer, having five student-athletes named to the All-Region Team,” said Head Men’s Soccer Coach Pepe Aragon. “It is not easy to make this team considering we have the strongest region in the country. My four seniors are getting a lot of attention from four-year institutions, and deservedly so.”
