Bowling builds momentum in Adirondack

QUEENSBURY, NY – After some time off from the lanes, the Herkimer Generals bowling team got back at it on Wednesday (2/4), traveling to SUNY Adirondack for their second match of the season. The rust showed with the men finishing fifth and the women finishing fourth.

Standing out for the men was sophomore Trevor Marston (Georgetown, NY), staying in the Top 10 with an 185 average and game-high 204, helping the sophomore to 1,221 totals pins and seventh place overall. Following Marston for Herkimer was Marshall Sterling (Mohawk, NY). The freshman had a hi-game of 200, totaling 1042 for the season which is good enough for 35th.

Stephen Cross (Ilion, NY), Philip Tanner (Deposit, NY), Eric Arthur (Remsen, NY), Joseph Hilts (Marcy, NY) and Ben Newman (Utica, NY) were the other men to compete in the conference matchup. Cross had 442, Tanner had 453, Arthur had 495, Hilts had 426 and Newman had 412.

As for the women, Ronnie Hines (South Otselic, NY) and Selena Barber (Mayfield, NY) totaled over 500 pins, with Hines at 539 and Barber at 502. It helped Hines to 12th and Barber to 14th overall in the conference.

Finishing out for the women was Destiny LeRoy (Sodus, NY), Alysha Buck (Syracuse, NY), Ashley Salisbury (Sherrill, NY), Jena Soper (Harrisville, NY) and Caitlyn Frye (Broadalbin, NY). LeRoy averaged 143 and totaled 430, Buck averaged 161 and totaled 485, Salisbury averaged 156 and totaled 468, Soper averaged 149 and totaled 447 and Frye averaged 109 and totaled 328.

Herkimer’s next match is at AMF Pin-O-Rama in Utica, NY on Friday, February 6th. Play is scheduled to begin at 3 p.m.
