Herkimer College Update on the Middle States Commission on Higher Education (MSCHE) Accreditation Process and Team Visit

Hello Herkimer Students,

Welcome to a new year at college!  As a point of information, Herkimer College has been in the Self-Study re-accreditation process for the past two years, during which many of you may have been a student here. The College’s MSCHE Team Visit for Reaffirmation of Accreditation will be held virtually on October 18 – 21, 2020.  The on-site visit had been postponed due to the COVID 19 response, and will now be held remotely, in accordance with state and federal expectations.

Herkimer submitted its routine full Self-Study report in preparation for the required Evaluation Team Visit in February 2020.  Since then, Herkimer has continued to update services via alternate remote delivery methods to meet the needs of students, faculty and staff, while upholding the quality programs and services for which Herkimer has been known.  During the self-study process, Herkimer remains a fully accredited institution through the Middle States Commission on Higher Education. Herkimer’s accreditation assures you that we are a quality institution in compliance with high Middle States Standards for Accreditation, Requirements of Affiliation and Federal Regulations for institutions of higher education.

Thank you to all students who have provided feedback and participated in surveys and focus groups to help direct the College in responding to your needs and to the expectations of our accreditors.  Some of you may even be contacted by College administrators within the next month, to join the conversations with the visiting team.

Feel free to contact me with any questions or comments you may have regarding Herkimer College’s accreditation.

Best wishes to you for an exciting, successful semester!
