PTA Club Collects for VAStudents in the Physical Therapy Club at Herkimer College held a collection to benefit veterans in VA Outreach programs as part of a professional involvement assignment. Items collected included canned food, personal hygiene products, towels and washcloths. Pictured from left to right are club members Tonya Hayes (Sherrill) and Diana Stevenson (Clinton). The Physical Therapy Club is one of more than 40 student clubs and organizations at Herkimer College. The purpose of the club is to provide a forum for all students, including those enrolled in the Physical Therapist Assistant program, to explore current physical therapy topics.

Herkimer College Announces Four Candidates for PresidentThe Herkimer County Community College Board of Trustees has announced the finalists for the position of president. Campus forums with each of the four candidates will be held in December. Specific dates and details related to the visits will be forthcoming.

Herkimer College to Offer Instant Admit Days in DecemberHerkimer College will offer three Instant Admit Days in December. Students interested in enrolling for the spring 2015 semester will be able to visit, apply and get admitted to the College on the same day. Instant Admit Days will be held on Friday, December 5, 12 & 19 from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Festival of Lights at Herkimer Mini ParkHerkimer College is planning the annual “Festival of Lights” on Wednesday, December 3 at the Tony Baggetta Mini Park, located on the corner of West Smith and William Streets. The festival will begin at 7 p.m. followed by a reception at the Herkimer Area Resource Center Valley Commons, located at 344 South Main Street.

Science Club Visits New England AquariumThe Herkimer College Science Club visited the New England Aquarium in Boston, Massachusetts as part of their animal themed events for the year. The club also has some fundraising events scheduled for this semester and the spring semester to raise funds to adopt an animal symbolically at the Utica Zoo.
