Herkimer College Welcomes Students for the Fall 2025 Semester
Herkimer College has begun the Fall 2025 semester with strong enrollment growth and an energized campus community. Students moved into College housing on Saturday, August 30, with classes officially beginning on Tuesday, September 2.

Herkimer College Programs Added to Open SUNY+State University of New York Chancellor Nancy L. Zimpher today announced that two Herkimer College degree programs, Paralegal (A.A.S.) and Quality Assurance-Business (A.S.), have been added to Open SUNY+, the university system’s signature online learning initiative. An additional 54 degrees and certificates at 16 other SUNY schools were have also been added to Open SUNY+. While all of SUNY’s online offerings, including more than 400 degree programs and 12,000 course sections, are a part of Open SUNY, those powered by “Open SUNY+” feature additional support services for students and faculty.

Herkimer College Honors Three Individuals with Prestigious Torchbearer AwardHerkimer County Community College honored Dr. Robert Campo of Ilion, NY; David Champoux of Bluffton, SC; and Thomas LaPuma of Frankfort, NY with the 2014 Torchbearer Award at a ceremony on Friday, October 10 in the Robert McLaughlin College Center. The three honorees joined 19 previous Torchbearer Award recipients who have made substantial contributions to the College’s development, particularly those made during the first 20 years of the College’s history.
