  • Herkimer College Students Complete Internship at Adirondack Scenic Railroad
    Many college programs offer students the opportunity for internships in order to relate theory from the classroom to a practical work environment. A hands-on internship experience is built into Herkimer County Community College’s Travel & Events Management program with internships ranging from 60 to 120 hours and three to six credit hours. 
  • Cogar Gallery to Feature Artwork by Dana Klein
    Herkimer College’s Cogar Gallery will showcase Dana Klein’s “Short Stories” from Friday, April 29 to Friday, May 27. An artist reception will be held on Sunday, May 15 from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m.
  • Herkimer College Students Participate in SUNY Assembly Conference
    Four members of the Herkimer County Community College Student Government Association (SGA) recently participated in the SUNY Assembly Conference in Saratoga Springs. The conference theme was ‘Progress Over Process,’ asking student leaders to not let the process of a difficult task slow one’s success, but instead focus on the greater good so true progress can be made. Several workshops were held during the three-day event, ranging from professional development to the inner workings of student government to accomplish the theme. The Student Assembly of the State University of New York, known as SUNY SA, is an organization comprised of student leaders elected by their peers from across SUNY’s 64 campuses. Empowering students throughout the state, SUNY SA is committed to student life and ensuring the representation of its members on the state and national level as well as throughout the SUNY system.   • Phi Theta Kappa National Convention
    Herkimer College students and their advisor recently participated in Phi Theta Kappa’s annual convention in National Harbor, MD. They joined over 4,000 other members, advisors, alumni, four-year colleges and sponsors for Nerd Nation 2016, a three-day event, to hear from dynamic speakers and be recognized for their hard work.   • Caz College at Herkimer Students Volunteer at Walk for Autism
    Students enrolled in Cazenovia College’s Inclusive Early Childhood and Inclusive Elementary Education programs at Herkimer College volunteered at the Walk for Autism on Saturday, April 9 at SUNY Poly. The students created and offered a sensory area, puzzle piece mural, ball toss, balloon animals and bracelets for attendees. Some students also walked with the more than 800 people who took part in the event. Proceeds from the event will support the Kelberman Center in Utica, NY which offers programs and services for children and adults with Autism Spectrum Disorders. The Cazenovia/Herkimer education program allows students to earn their bachelor’s degree in either Inclusive Early Childhood Education or Inclusive Elementary Education from Cazenovia while on the campus of Herkimer College.   • Herkimer College Fashion Show
    The Herkimer County Community College Fashion Club will present a fashion show, titled ‘Who Am I,’ on Friday, April 29 at 6 p.m. in the Robert McLaughlin College Center Lobby.
