    Poland High School standout Mikayla Blumenstock signed a letter of intent at Herkimer College to play for the Herkimer Generals women’s soccer program in 2016. Blumenstock finished her career with the Tornadoes this past fall, accumulating 209 goals, the third highest total in New York State and first in Section III.

    Herkimer College Associate Professor of English Lisa Elwood Farber recently published an article called “Mothering, Mothers and the Historical Representations of Black Motherhood in Fiction: Barbara Chase-Riboud’s Sally Hemings” in the anthology Black Motherhood: Contours, Contexts, and Considerations for Demeter Press edited by Karen T.
