2024 Torchbearer Award Nomination Form

The Torchbearer Award Selection Committee invites nominations for the 2024 Torchbearer Award, Herkimer County Community College’s most prestigious recognition. This honor is bestowed on individuals whose contributions have had a significant and lasting impact on the College. No more than six honorees are selected every five years for the honor. Awards may be presented posthumously.

Nominations are due by the close of business on Tuesday, April 30, 2024. Nominations will be considered by a selection committee, and the committee will make recommendations to the College Board of Trustees, which has final approval. The Torchbearer Award Ceremony will take place in the fall of 2024. 

Eligibility criteria:

• Current full-time employees of Herkimer College are not eligible.
• Former employees must have performed full-time service for a minimum of five years.
• Former full-time employees currently working part-time for the college, including adjunct teaching, are eligible, as long as they meet the five-year requirement above.
• College trustees and elected officials currently serving their terms are not eligible.
