Thomas W. Lenahan

For his significant and lasting contributions to the growth and sophistication of Herkimer County Community College’s Criminal Justice program. Professor Lenahan ensured that the curriculum kept pace with rapidly changing technology and best practices, and remained up to date with current theories and professional standards in the field. As a result, the Criminal Justice program grew into the second largest single area of instruction at the College, and a key enrollment generator. Through his sustained efforts and leadership, Professor Lenahan developed Criminal Justice into one of the College’s flagship programs, and in the process established it as one of the most respected academic programs in this field in New York State. Following his retirement, Professor Lenahan continued to teach at the College as an adjunct instructor, and continued to support the College and its students by participating in many events and programs, both on and off campus.
