Strong week for Baker earns him National Goalie of the Week

HERKIMER, NY – Herkimer Generals men’s soccer player Morrice Baker held opponents scoreless last week in two games, helping the team go 2-0, earning the sophomore NJCAA DIII National Goalie of the Week.

Baker – a Liberal Arts & Sciences: General Studies major at Herkimer College – racked up four saves in games against Onondaga (3-0) and Jamestown (10-0). The Bridgeport, CT native tied a season-high in saves against the Lazers with three, then collected another against the Jayhawks in a 10-0 victory at home. It was his third consecutive shutout of the season, helping the Generals outscore opponents 14-to-0 in those games.

“Morrice is well deserving of this award,” said Head Men’s Soccer Coach Pepe Aragon. “He worked hard this past off season which is paying off for our team on the defensive end.”
