Second conference win comes in 12-0 rout of Clinton

PLATTSBURGH, NY – Netting double digit goal totals for the third time in their last five games, the #7 Herkimer Generals men’s soccer team got another conference win Sunday (9/20) at SUNY Plattsburgh Soccer Complex, defeating Clinton Community College 12-0.

Herkimer (6-2, 2-1) had nine different players score in the game, three of them managed more than one goal. Femi Kaffo (London, England), Kevin Van der Slik (Zoetermeer, Holland) and Walter Medina (Brooklyn, NY) combined for six goals and four assists against the Cougars; each netting two goals and at least one assist. Kaffo now has five goals and six assists, Van der Slik has seven goals and one assist and Medina has two goals and two assists.

Other Generals to score in the contest were Emmanuel Nelson (Schenectady, NY), Milano Kuku (Springfield, MA), Brian Vasquez (White Plains, NY), Ocasio Brown (Discovery Bay, Jamaica), Connor Doogan (Belfest, Ireland) and Eddie Speed (Chester, Liverpool). Each netted one goal, helping the Generals lead 7-0 at half, then 12-0 by the end of the 90 minutes.

Sharing time at goalie on Sunday was Morrice Baker (Bridgeport, CT) and Ian James (Saint Kitts, Caribbean Sea). Baker played the first half and didn’t record a save, however James recorded two in the second half.

Herkimer will continue their away stand on Wednesday (9/23), traveling to Saranac Lake to play North Country Community College. The Generals third consecutive away game will be against a winless Saints team, currently 0-6-1. Game time is scheduled for 4 p.m.
