HERKIMER, NY – For the third time this season, Herkimer Generals women’s soccer player Sydney Stanley was awarded as NJCAA DIII National Goalie of the Week on Wednesday (10/21), collecting three shutouts in 180 minutes.

Stanley – a Business: Business Administration major at Herkimer College – tallied 13 total saves in three games; seven against Hudson Valley, four against Jefferson and two against #8 Genesee. It was Stanley’s sixth consecutive shutout and 14th as a starter in 15 games, only allowing two goals all season. The sophomore is currently first nationally wins (14) and shutouts (14) and second in goals against (2), goals against average (.966) and save percentage (.966).

“Sydney continues to impress me with her intensity and communication each and every day,” said Head Women’s Soccer Coach Ryan Brooks Newton. “It has resulted in many wins for our team, never having to worry about scoring many goals to obtain a victory.”
