HERKIMER, NY – After going undrafted in the 2016 National Football League (NFL) Draft, former Herkimer General Wendall Williams signed a contract Saturday with the Houston Texans, one of 16 free agents to get a deal done with the team. Each deal is contingent on the player passing a physical.

Williams - a native of Syracuse, NY – was a former two-sport standout who nearly recorded a recording-breaking 40-yard dash at an NFL Regional Combine in Minneapolis, MN in March. He was a six-time JUCO track & field national champion for Herkimer, doubling as a SUNY Chancellor’s Scholar Athlete in 2014 before transferring to the University of Cumberlands (KY).
