Winnie has two first-place finishes at home meet

HERKIMER, NY – With multiple Herkimer swimmers doing well on Saturday in their only hosted meet this season at Cristman Pool, the Generals combined for 10 Top 3 finishes.

Leading the way for the women was sophomore Kaitlin Winnie (Accord, NY) with two first-place finishes. Winnie, who had one first-place finish last week, dominated in the 50 yd. Freestyle (26.77) and 100 yd. Freestyle (1:00.84).

Grabbing two second-place finishes for the women was sophomore Kristina Reynolds (Sherburne-Earlville, NY). Reynolds, who broke a school-record last week in the 1000 yd. Freestyle, had a time of 2:38.62 in the 200 yd. IM and 1:09.42 in the 100 yd. Backstroke.

Rrounding out the Lady General attack was freshman Erin Hutchison (Macedon, NY) and freshman Tianderah Twichell (West Winfield, NY). Hutchison had one second place finish in the 500 yd. Freestyle (6:37.32) and three third-place finishes in the 200 yd. Medley Relay (2:16.60), 200 yd. IM (2:42.18) and 200 yd. Freestyle Relay (2:01.87). Twichell had a third place finish in the 100 yd. Breaststroke.

For the men, they posted one second-place finish and one third-place finish. Obtaining both of those honors was freshman Brandon Paul (Gloversville, NY). Paul had one third-place finish last week in the 200 yd. Freestyle, his second-place finish on Saturday came in the 50 yd. Freestyle (24.78) and his third-place finish came in the 100 yd. Freestyle (55.34).

The Generals next meet is at SUNY Delhi on Saturday, November 23rd. Start time is 1 p.m.
