Herkimer College appoints new Advisement Center Specialist

Herkimer County Community College has appointed Jessicca J. Bacher, of Woodland Park, NJ, as an advisement center specialist. She will be relocating to New Hartford, NY, for the position.

Bacher graduated from Montclair State University (MSU) in 2017 with a B.A. in communication studies and then continued on to receive her M.A. in educational leadership and administration in 2020.

Bacher previously worked as a program associate in MSU’s Academic Success Center. In this role, she managed department customer service interactions; coordinated, developed, and delivered academic support workshops; and assisted with tutorial services, academic support, testing, and assessment.

As an advisement center specialist, Bacher will provide academic advisement to Herkimer College students. She will assist new and continuing students in planning their program of study, including counseling them on requests to change majors, helping them understand graduation requirements, assisting with scheduling, and more.
