Call of Duty Esports team makes it to National Semifinals

In its first year of competition, the Herkimer Generals Esports Call of Duty: Modern Warfare team has advanced to the national semifinals of the National Junior College Athletic Association Esports (NJCAAE) invitational tournament.

The Generals secured their position after a 4-3 win over Gogebic Community College on April 19.

The team of first-year students Christian Mandia (Utica, NY) and Jayden Vargas (Bronx, NY), which is seeded No. 4 for the tournament, will take on the top-seeded team from the University of South Carolina-Sumter on Monday, April 26 at 6 p.m. The winner of that match advances to the National finals later that evening against the winner of Central Wyoming and Irvine Valley College at 6:45 PM.
