Herkimer Softball Sweep’s Hudson Valley

Troy NY- The Herkimer Generals women softball traveled take on Region III for the Hudson Valley Vikings. The Generals offense exploded for 30 runs in the doubleheader beating the Vikings 16-3 and 14-6.

The Generals offense pounded out 21 hits and had 5 home runs on the afternoon. Alexis Van Patten(Niskayuna, NY) finished day with 4 hits, 3 RBI’s, including 2 home runs and a double. Hailey Hunter(Deerfield, NY) added 3 hits, 4 RBI’s including a homerun and a double. Makenna Hill (Ohsweken, ON) and Logan Stansfield(Savoy, NY) added home runs for the Generals in game two while adding a combined 7 RBI’s. 

Freshman pitchers Madison Puppalo(Adams, MA) and Madison Prior(East Greenbush, NY) picked on the win’s on the day. Puppalo gave up only 3 hits and 1 earned run in game one, while striking out 7. Prior gave up 6 hits and 1 earned run while striking out 8.

The Generals are back in action on 4/5 when they host Jefferson CC for another Region III doubleheader at 3PM.
