Kristina Reynolds Earns NJCAA Regional Championship

HERKIMER, NY – Herkimer College Sophomore Kristina Reynolds, Sherburne, NY, captured her first NJCAA Regional Championship at Monroe Community College Sunday, in the 200 yd. butterfly.

Reynolds added to her already impressive resume this season which includes 32 top five finishes. She finished in first place in the 200 yd. butterfly, posting a 2:30.89, almost three seconds better than the next finisher. It was the second time this season she finished first in the event, taking 18 seconds off her time at SUNY Delhi where she had three first-place finishes in the 100 yd. backstroke, 200 yd. butterfly and 500 yd. freestyle.

The Liberal Arts & Sciences: General Studies major at Herkimer College has four first-place finishes and three school records. Head Coach Vicki Brown said, “Kristina is a talented swimmer whose butterfly is impeccable. It’s been a joy to watch her excel these past two seasons.

The Generals swimming and diving team will compete in Nationals during March at Indian River State College.
