Herkimer College will host a free holiday concert with the Modernistics at 7 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 2, in the Sarkus-Busch Theater, located in the College’s Robert McLaughlin College Center. The event is open to the public and seating is first come, first served.

The Modernistics are the acclaimed singing and tap-dancing team of Ted and Pamela Powers, with virtuoso jazz musicians Peter H. Bloom on flute, Mark Leighton on guitar, and Dave Zox on double bass. The renowned quintet will celebrate the season with exhilarating songs, tap-dance numbers, and jazz instrumentals like Sleigh Ride, Winter Wonderland, Happy Holiday, Let It Snow, Chestnuts Roasting, Brazilian Sleigh Bells, and other holiday favorites from the Great American Songbook.

The Robert H. Wood Great Artists Series is a result of a generous endowment made to the Herkimer County College Foundation by the late Robert H. Wood, a long-time resident of Ilion.
