Campanian Green & Gold Athlete for November

HERKIMER, NY – Sophomore Victoria Campanian was named Green & Gold Female Athlete of the Month in November. The Liberal Arts & Sciences: General Studies major at Herkimer College won a national championship at Finger Lakes Community College, posting a time of 20:05.7.  

Campanian, a resident of Glenfield, NY, won the Mountain Valley Conference Championship, Region III Championship and National Championship in 2014. It helped her to All-American and All-Region honors, collecting four first-place and three second-place finishes for the Generals in nine races.

“I believe Victoria came into this season better prepared,” said Head Cross Country Coach Stephen Sydoriw. “It was her fourth time running the course at Finger Lakes, coming in the top spot amongst 109 other competitors.”

Associate Head Coach Sharon Howell reiterated it by saying, “Victoria knew what she had to do this season to be successful. It made her more consistent and more adept at dealing with the pressure student-athletes deal with as the races get more important toward the end of the season.”
