Bio

Scott Scheible has over fifteen years of higher education experience encompassing various functional areas, including continuing and professional education, workforce and economic development, career readiness, industry engagement, sales/business development, online learning, research administration, and fundraising. He has led a range of programs, projects, and initiatives across various colleges and universities.

Prior to joining Herkimer County Community College, Scott served as Deputy Director of the Brooks Center for Infrastructure at Cornell University, an industry-aligned academic center focused on the intersection of infrastructure, emerging technology, and public policy. In other positions at Cornell, he led the career services office within the College of Architecture, Art, and Planning and advised experienced professionals exploring certificate programs in engineering, technology, and project management. Scott also served as the Director of Continuing and Professional Education at SUNY Polytechnic Institute where he led the college's efforts to envision and build a comprehensive continuing and professional education program aligned with regional workforce needs. In roles at the University of Notre Dame and Carnegie Mellon University, Scott built and maintained recruiting relationships with leading employers across various industries and advised graduate students pursuing leadership roles in the public, private, and nonprofit sectors.
Scott holds a Master's Degree in Urban Planning with a specialization in Economic Development from the University at Buffalo, a Master's Degree in Industrial and Labor Relations from Indiana University of Pennsylvania, and a Bachelor's Degree in Employment Relations from SUNY Potsdam. Originally from the Mohawk Valley (Rome), Scott is thrilled to be a member of the HCCC community. He lives in Herkimer County with his wife and son.
