Herkimer women drop game at MVCC

Utica, NY - The Mohawk Valley Hawks proved why they are the third-ranked team in the nation, handing the Herkimer Generals a 74-39 loss in women's basketball on Thursday night in Utica. With the win, the Hawks improve to 24-2 on the year while the Generals fall to a still-commendable 19-7.

Samantha Randio (New Baltimore, NY) led the Generals with 15 points while Whitney Brown (Queens, NY) added 14 points in the losing effort. The Generals were done in by poor shooting, highlighted by 0-12 mark from three-point range.

Herkimer will look to bounce back on Sunday as they will travel to Saranac Lake, NY to take on the North Country Saints. Game time is 3:00 p.m.

One home game remains on the Generals' schedule. They will host Hudson Valley in a 5:00 p.m. contest on Wednesday, February 20.
