#5 Generals claim victory over Timberwolves

In last night’s game versus the SUNY Adirondack Timberwolves our Generals, ranked 5th in the nation, needed just one to come away with the win.  According to head coach Pepe Aragon it was patience that led his team to victory.  Ironically enough the not so patient sophomore forward Dajhal Kelly (Saint Kitts, Caribbean Sea) scored Herkimer’s one and only goal just 1 minute and 43 seconds into the game.  Kelly’s goal was beautifully assisted by freshman midfielder #13 Camilo Avendano.

But it was patience and attention to detail that held this lead throughout the night.  “We created several opportunities including Carlos Beltran (Central Islip, NY) and Avendano both hitting the post in the second half,” says Aragon.  Herkimer created many chances throughout the night outshooting SUNY Adirondack 19-3, but the Generals needed just the one that found the back of the net to leave victorious.

The generals now face their next challenge versus Fulton-Montgomery this Saturday (9/10) at 1pm in their first game on the road.
