Kelly and Speed Named NSCAA All-American

Herkimer, NY – Two members of the Herkimer men’s soccer team have been selected to the National Soccer Coaches Association of America All America team.  Sophomores Dajhal Kelly (Saint Kitts, Caribbean Sea) and Eddie Speed (Chester, England) were both named to the first team.  Kelly was the Region III Most Valuable Player of the Regional tournament and recorded 21 goals and 5 assists.  “Dajhal is an explosive skillful striker who is also a great passer and can finish,” stated Head Coach Pepe Aragon.

Speed had two goals and four assists as a defensive workhorse in the midfield and back.  He was part of a defense that recorded ten shutouts for the season.  “Eddie has an unbelievable work rate and was tremendous in both the midfield and back.  Said Aragon.  “He is an athletic versatile player who we had to count on to play multiple positions for us throughout the season.”

Both players were co-Mountain Valley Players of the Year, first team Region III, first team NSCAA All-East and NJCAA All-Americans.   “Dajhal and Eddie are receiving a lot of attention from Division I and II schools throughout the country.”  “We are extremely proud to have two players named to the first team.
