Swimming & Diving Honor the Seniors in Last Home Meet

Herkimer, NY-- It was a bitter sweet afternoon for the Herkimer Generals swimming & diving team Saturday January 28th.  The Generals honored their seven seniors for this season's last home meet.  But what a better way to honor the seniors than breaking thirteen 2016/2017 season records including four events which earned qualification for Nationals.  This meet included some aw inspiring improvements from the Generals such as 12 seconds off the women's 400 medley relay, 11 seconds off the women's 400 freestyle relay, 14 seconds off the men's 400 medley relay and an astonishing 15 seconds off the men's 400 freestyle relay.

Individually the Generals performed with season high excellence as well.  

Daniela Barrera (Cali, Columbia) improved her season best 200 breast stroke time by three seconds.

Mai Han (Bay Shore, NY) improved her season best 200 breast stroke by 11 seconds.

 Chyanna Bernier (Ilion, NY) improved her 200 breast stroke by 8 seconds, and her 200 freestyle by a jaw dropping 18 seconds; which also qualified her for Nationals in both events.

Jensen VanNostrand (Macedon, NY) improved her 200 Butterfly by 11 Seconds.

Lastly for the women, Morgan Boone (Rome, NY) improved her best diving score by 20 points.

Three Herkimer men made major improvements to their events as well. Austin Jory (Schenevus, NY) dropped four seconds off of his 200 breast stroke which qualified him for Nationals.

Cam Roten (Johnstown, NY) dropped four seconds off of his 200 backstroke which also qualified him for Nationals.

Lastly for the men, diver Nick Herrlett improved his season high diving score by 29 points.
