Murphy leads the Generals to victory

Game 1 Highlights

A combined effort lifts the Herkimer Generals (1-0) past RCGC.  Sophomores Luke Murphy (Glasgow, Scotland) and Gus Ward (London, England) led the attack for the Generals.  Both Murphy and Ward tallied one goal and one assist in the win.  Murphy recorded Herkimer’s first goal of the 2017 campaign during the first half. 

Other notables were freshman Diego Bastone (Hopewell Junction, NY) and sophomore Meysar Abdulkadir (Hartford, CT) who scored two of the three goals in the second half.  Sophomore goalkeeper Roandre Wollery (Hartford, CT) recorded the shutout with the support of the Generals backfield.  Herkimer’s four goals were too much for RCGC to compete with as the Generals marched away with a victory.

Game 2 Highlights

Sophomore Luke Murphy (Glasgow, Scotland) records a hat trick to help the Herkimer Generals (2-0) cruise past Bergen CC.  Murphy scored three goals in less than one half of play, helping the Generals to a 6-1 victory.  The Generals scored five of their six goals in the first half.  Freshman Abelardo Mendoza (Bridgeport, CT) and sophomore Oscar Forero (Ossining, NY) nailed home the other two first half goals. 

Herkimer scored again in the second half on a heads up play by sophomore Walter Medina (Brooklyn, NY) who was in the right place at the right time.  The Generals spread the ball around efficiently and controlled the pace of the game during the second half leaving Bergen in the dust.
