Herkimer Track and Field competes in St. John Fisher Cardinal Invitational

Rochester, NY - On a rainy day on the St. John Fisher campus, the Herkimer Men's and Women's team took part in the Cardinal Invitational on Saturday, April 28th. There were many individual highlights and personal bests on the day, despite the conditions. 

Kyle Holmes (Spencer, NY) qualified for Nationals with a time of 10:59.42 in the 3000. Mamadou Diallo (Bronx, NY) continued to lower his 400M time and was just short of qualifying for Nationals with a time of 52.14 and the 4x100 relay team of Diallo, Kenny Joseph (Dover Plains), Jordan Edmonds (Bridgeport, CT), and Rin Ebina (Sapporo, Japan) placed 5th in the meet with a time of 46.01.

For the women, the highlights included Sade Davis (Newburgh, NY) lowering her personal best in the 200M with a time of 31.88. Malerie Belles (Clay, NY) placed 2nd in the high jump with a height of 1.50. Miyah Stroman (Syracuse, NY) just missed qualifying for Nationals with a distance of 4.01 in the long jump. Alexis Perkett (Remsen, NY) just missed qualifying for nationals as well with a personal best of 25.16 in the javelin. 

The Generals now look forward to May 4th and 5th, as they host the Region III Championship at Little Falls High School. The meet is set to begin at 4:00 PM on Friday the 4th.
