Herkimer Men's Soccer wraps up regular season with road win at Jefferson
Watertown, NY – The Herkimer Generals finished their regular season 14-1-0 by defeating Jefferson CC 9-0. Freshman Shemar Blair (Brampton, Ontario) opened up the scoring in the 12th minute off an assist from freshman Tarik Moussaoui (Oslow, Norway). Freshman Mupenzi Irakiza (Syracuse, NY) scored in the 27th minute off an assist from Blair. Sophomore Chris Capaldo (Smithtown, NY) scored in the 28th minute off an assist from freshman Gian-Luca Fahling (Dowat, Switzerland). Irakiza scored his second goal of the game in the 30th minute off an assist from Blair. Fahling finalized the scoring in the first half in the 32nd minute on a penalty kick.
Freshman Jaahdal Cyril (Bridgeport, Ct) opened up the scoring in the second half in the 61st minute off an assist from freshman Ryotaro Hayashi (Osaka, Japan). Cyril scored four minutes later in the 65th minute off an assist from freshman Tokiwa Yoshida (Hiroshima, Japan). Sophomore Diego Bastone (Fishkill, NY) converted a penalty kick in the 77th minute. Freshman Riley Urie (West Glover, VT) finished off the scoring in the 83rd minute off an assist from sophomore Giovanni Dagraca (Bridgeport, CT). Freshman Aubrey Lowe (Toronto, Ontario) recorded 2 saves in first half. Freshman Julio Gomes (Bedview, South Africa) played in the second half recording one save.
The Generals will now await the Region III Playoff seedings, due to come out on Sunday Oct 21, to determine their playoff matchups.
