Herkimer Men's Soccer Earns All Conference and All Region Honors

Herkimer, NY— The Herkimer Generals men’s soccer team had multiple players earn spots on the All-Mountain Valley Conference teams as well as the 2018 All-Region team.

Senior Marius Svendsen (Drammew, Norway) earned the Mountain Valley Conference Player of the Year award for the Generals and Coach Pepe Aragon shared the Conference Coach of the Year honor with Hudson Valley Head Coach Dom DiMaggio. The Generals, who won the MVC this year with a record of 5-0, also placed senior Chris Capaldo (Smithtown, NY) and freshmen Shemar Blair (Brampton, Ontario), Mupenzi Irakiza (Syracuse, NY) and Gian-Luca Failing (Dowat, Switzerland) on the All-Conference Team.

Blair, Irakiza, and Svendsen also received Region III First Team honors as well. In addition, Capaldo and Failing earned spots on the Region III Second team along with freshman goalie Stian Klausen (Oslo, Norway).

The Generals finished the season with a record of 15-2 and a final national ranking of #6 in the NJCAA Division III Men’s Soccer National Pool.
