Herkimer Women get first win of season at Clinton, 54-25

Plattsburgh, NY - The Herkimer Generals Women's Basketball team used a smothering defensive performance in the first half, holding the Clinton Community Cougars to 4 points, and earning their first victory of the season with a 54-25 road win on Sunday afternoon in Plattsburgh, NY. The win gives the Generals a record of 1-1 on the year, and gives them their first win in Mountain Valley Conference Play. 

Markia Peak (Rochester, NY) led the way for Herkimer with 11 points on the day while Myjoi Adams (Pomona, CA) added 10 in the victory. Cassidy Weaver (Chase Mills, NY), Samantha Pena (Bronx, NY), and Clinique Robinson (Catskill, NY) each pitched in with 7 points apiece as the Generals took a 28-4 lead at halftime and cruised to the easy win.

Next up for the Generals is their home opener on Saturday, Nov 10 as they host Mountain Valley Conference rival, the Hudson Valley Vikings. Game time for the home opener is set for 1:00 PM.
