Streak snapped by Raiders at home

HERKIMER, NY – The Women’s Basketball team had their seven-game win streak at home snapped Thursday night at home by Fulton-Montgomery, losing to the Raiders 82-68.

Herkimer 9-11 (5-6) trailed by one point at half (40-39), but saw that deficit increase to 15 (65-50) within the first 10 minutes of the second half. In final 10 minutes, the Generals outscored the Raiders 18-to-17, but the lead was too large to come back from.

Scoring in double figures for Herkimer was Samantha Randio (Ravena, NY), Shahadah Williams (Syracuse, NY), Emily Rexford (Canton, NY) and Korey Bunal (Rome, NY). Randio finished with 10, Williams finished with 12, Rexford finished with 13 and Bunal finished with 13.

The Generals had three other players contribute in the conference loss as well. They were Kaylyn Dickerson (Douglasville, GA), Raven Griffin (Syracuse, NY) and Alyssa Craig (Fonda, NY). Dickerson had eight points, Griffin had four and Craig had eight.

Herkimer’s next game is on the road at SUNY Delhi. The last time they played in Bronco country, Herkimer won by double digits. On Saturday (2/8), game time is scheduled for 1 p.m.
