Men's JV Basketball goes 1-1 over weekend, improves record to 5-1 on season

Loch Sheldrake, NY and Elmira, NY - The Herkimer Mens JV basketball team suffered its first loss of the season with a 79-77 triple overtime loss at Sullivan Community College on Saturday afternoon. High scorer for the Generals was Tavon Bates (Liverpool, NY) with 20. Big men Marquis Hibbert (Brooklyn, NY) and Josh Wilcox (Herkimer, NY) combined for 26 points. Josh Harvey (Deerfield, NY) sparked the comeback with 5 assists in overtime.

 

On Sunday the Generals traveled to Elmira College and had its best offensive performance of the season with an 86-78 win. Four players scored in double figures. Mecca McCollough (Rochester NY) led the Generals with 22, Bates added 19 while Kaneeff Danzy (Albany NY) had 17, Josh Wilcox added 10 and Jerome Henderson (Queens NY) chipped in 9 and had four steals. The Generals are currently 5 and 1 and host Word of Life College on Sunday at 1:00 in the final game of the Fall semester.
