Herkimer drops close one to DII Niagara CCC

Herkimer, NY - In a battle with undefeated Niagara CCC, the Herkimer Generals came up a bit short and dropped a 67-61 decision to the Thunderwolves on Saturday afternoon in the Herkimer Varsity Gym. The Generals, who are ranked 9th in the latest Division III poll, saw their record drop to 9-2 on the season with the hard fought loss.

Niagara, ranked #8 in NJCAA Division III, jumped out to an 11 point halftime lead before Herkimer battled back in the second half and trailed by just 2 with 5 minutes to go. The rally was cut short as Herkimer only shot 6-19 at the free throw line for the game.

Alysia Roldan (East Greenbush, NY) led the way for the Generals with 17 points while Amber Been (Bronx, NY) and Namir Davis (Utica, NY) chipped in with 13 apiece.

Herkimer now hits the road for a matchup with Division II Genesee Community College on Tuesday afternoon in Batavia, NY. Tip off is set for 2:00 PM.
