Generals win at SUNY Adirondack to close out regular season

Glens Falls, NY - The Herkimer Generals Women's Basketball team closed out their most successful regular season in over 15 years by going on the road to defeat the SUNY Adirondack Timberwolves by a score of 69-40 on Sunday afternoon in Glens Falls. The win lifts the Generals record to 18-5 on the season and 10-2 in the Mountain Valley Conference.

Amber Been (Bronx, NY) led a balanced scoring attack by scoring 13 points while Lexi DeBeatham (Menands, NY) added 11 points while Seniors Namir Davis (Utica, NY) and Samantha Pena (Bronx, NY) chipped in with 10 points apiece. The Generals overcame a cold shooting game from the field by holding the Timberwolves to 27% shooting in the contest while allowing only 15 points combined in the second and third quarters.

The Generals now get some time off to prepare for the Region III Tournament, which will start on campus sites on Saturday, February 22. Herkimer will find out it's seeding and matchup on Wednesday afternoon. It is anticipated that the Generals will receive a first round bye and hope to host a Region III Quarterfinal on Tuesday, February 25th.
