Notice to Campus Community: Health Resources

Stay up-to-date on the current best practices to ensure the health and safety of yourself and our campus community.

Dear Campus Community,

As announced yesterday, Herkimer County has had its first confirmed case of the Coronavirus. While there are no confirmed cases of the virus at Herkimer College or among the campus community, we would like you all to be aware of the current best practices for addressing any symptoms:

  • Bassett Healthcare Network at 321 East Albany Street has developed a special hotline for addressing Coronavirus concerns. Call 1-800-BASSETT (1-800-227-7388) if you have any symptoms, and they will guide you through your next steps.
  • Primary Urgent Care at 130 West Albany Street is open seven days a week to address concerns and give guidance. Their number is (315) 634-6647, or go online to primaryurgentcare.com.

Early symptoms of the virus can include a fever, cough, or shortness of breath, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. If you are experiencing any symptoms, the best thing to do is to stay put and contact either of the above numbers, or the Campus Safety Office at (315) 866-0300 ext. 8616. In an emergency, contact 911.

If you have any signs of illness, please contact the Campus Safety Office. In the event a quarantine or self-quarantine is needed, the Campus Safety Office will work to deliver food and supplies to those in need.
