Former Generals goalie wins top Canadian Premier League award

Triston Henry

Former Herkimer soccer all-American Triston Henry (Scarborough, Ontario) was named the Canadian Premier League top goalkeeper of the year, winning the Golden Glove Award. Henry, who won the 2020 CPL championship this season with Forge FC, recorded five shutouts in 900 minutes of play in this summer’s Island Games.

The Golden Glove award takes into account the nominees’ performances for the full 2020 CPL season. The honor is voted on by a judging panel composed of media writers and reporters from across Canada.

Henry won back-to-back NJCAA national championships in 2013 and 2014 at Herkimer.

“What an amazing and well-deserved accomplishment," said Herkimer Coach Pepe Aragon. "Triston truly deserved this award for his performances this season. I look forward to watching his game against Arcahaie FC.”

Forge now prepares to take on Haitian club Arcahaie FC in the quarter-final of the CONCACAF League play on Tuesday, December 1.
