Herkimer Esports makes its NJCAA Debut

Herkimer, NY - The Herkimer College Esports team, under the direction of Co-Head Coaches Josh Lanza and Frank Drapalski, made their long awaited NJCAA debut during the week of February 8th. The team roster includes Paul Gleba (Ilion, NY), Christian Mandia (Utica, NY), Abigail Maurelli (Morris, NY), David Maxson (Ilion, NY), Sinara Sims (Queens, NY), Hunter Stealey (Whitesboro, NY), and Jayden Vargas (Bronx, NY).

In best of 7 matches conducted throughout the week, the Generals had a 2-1 record. On Monday the 8th, Herkimer, led by Vargas and Mandia, defeated Nassau Community College 4-0 in Call of Duty-Modern Warfare-Gunfight. Maxson led the Generals to another 4-0 sweep on Tuesday the 9th against Iowa Central College in Super Smash Bros.-Ultimate. Herkimer dropped the Thursday evening contest to Bismarck State College by a score of 4-0 in Rocket League play.

The Generals season continues next week as they once again take on Iowa Central on Monday night the 15th, this time in Call of Duty. Other matchups next week include a Super Smash Bros. match against Grays Harbor College on Tuesday the 16th and a date with Snow College in Rocket League on Thursday the 18th.
